Rihanna se manifesta e pede justiça por George Floyd

Rihanna foi ao Instagram na noite dessa sexta-feira (29) para expressar sua tristeza pelo assassinato de George Floyd nos Estados Unidos.

“Assistir meu povo ser assassinado dia após dia me levou a um lugar pesado no meu coração. A ponto de ficar longe de mídias sociais, só para evitar ouvir a agonia na voz de George Floyd novamente, implorando por mais de uma vez por sua vida“; disse Rihanna em publicação.

No início desta semana, George Floyd, um homem afro-americano, morreu após ter sido mantido durante cerca de nove minutos no chão com um joelho de um policial branco sobre o seu pescoço. Além de Rihanna, a cantora Beyoncé também prestou homenagens e convocou seus fãs para assinarem uma petição em razão do caso.

For the last few days, the magnitude of devastation, anger, sadness I’ve felt has been overwhelming to say the least! Watching my people get murdered and lynched day after day pushed me to a heavy place in my heart! To the point of staying away from socials, just to avoid hearing the blood curdling agony in George Floyd’s voice again, begging over and over for his life!!! The look of enticement, the pure joy and climax on the face of this bigot, murderer, thug, pig, bum, Derek Chauvin, haunts me!! I can’t shake this! I can’t get over an ambulance pulling up to an arrest, a paramedic checking a pulse without removing the very thing that’s hindering it! Is this that fucking normal???
